BAD BARD POETRY
Rapunzel
Rapunzel, Rapunzel
Teasing your tresses
Through the day
And into the long night
Enchanting the few
Who catch a glimpse of you
And would urge you
From your tower
But preening to your mirror
Becomes the cement
Sealing your imprisonment
An unseen guard that hides the key
That would unlock and set you free
Jealous jailer in your fortress of dreams
Keeps escape a haunting shadow
Beyond your fragile means

Would that you would break the glass
That turns this world a tiring farce
And slip the shackles of our mortal trap
Alone you pamper in your lap.
For what can you see from your parapet
But a mirage of a world not met
Reflecting in your doleful frown
The murmuring want of coming down
A price too high
As your lone tower
The prison
That you make your bower
