BAD BARD POETRY
Dread Suicide
A drowning man his arms outstretched
We look on helpless and perplexed
A tragedy unfolding before our eyes
Into the abyss he drifts and dies.
Impotent and grieving upon the shore
Should we, could we, have done more?
Searched the matters we didn’t address
That provokes a soul in dire distress
To grab a rope, or gun or knife
And brutally to end his life
What forces bear and cause a man
To destruct his own life’s plan
Hastening forth his inevitable death,
To consciously choke on his final breath
Causing fear, sorrow and love to collide
In the heartrending loss
Of dread suicide
Nigel Williams died 27th March 2020
