BAD BARD POETRY

Zabriski
Last night we met up in my dream
Like you were always there
Happy in the changing scenes
Having fun without a care.
We were back out on the road
Exploring those amazing canyons
I love you now as I loved you then
My glorious companion.
Something then occurred to me
And stirred me from my sleep
You had left us long ago,
So long, I smile not weep.
Thousands of miles of joy back then
Now you visit, and we go again
And I looked you in the eye
And know our spirits never die
For you were here and you were real
So listen girl let’s make a deal
When it’s my turn to leave life’s toil
And shuffle off this mortal coil,
At the time the Gods appoint
Let’s meet up at Zabriskie point.
Absorb the magic of that scene,
While you tell me how you’ve been
Then maybe for a laugh, we’ll let you drive
Off into the next life, where we shall thrive.
