BAD BARD POETRY

An angel from Porthleven
The other day I crossed paths
With an angel, from Porthleven
As we passed, she shared her smile
It was a slice of heaven.
Strolling on, imbibing the beauty
Of the wonderful coastal walk,
A voice inside informed me
We'd soon meet again and talk.
Perhaps it was a fanciful thought,
For we were going opposite ways ..
But unerring coincidence can't be dodged,
When it visits on auspicious days.
See earlier, she'd slipped in behind me
In a cake and coffee queue
I dared not turn or glance at her,
Lest she took to her wings and flew.
So it was intrigue more than surprise
As I made my way down a lane
To once again encounter her
And feel the radiance of her presence again.
We approached, laughter spilled and we giggled,
I said 'who's stalking who', as we jiggled,
Then fell into a brief chat,
About this and that,
And she told me she lived in Porthleven
Didn't ask her name, didn't play a game
A far brighter flame burns in heaven.
So I went on my way on this curious day
Thanking the Gods in the heavens,
For wanting to have me know,
And kindly bringing to show
Their angel, who lives in Porthleven.
